There are some days when no matter what I say it feels like I’m far away in another country & whoever is doing the translating has had far too much to drink ~ b. andreas

Ash Wednesday

Due to the fact that it was cold, raining, and dark this morning and the fact that I have been very dedicated and studious lately, I decided that I deserved a personal day (or at least a half day). Those of you who have lived with me in the past are aware that personal days are very important to my personal sanity and happiness. Personal days involve not getting out of bed in the morning except to get a big coke and a chicken biscuit, and/or some kind of chocolate (maybe a cookie?) and curling up with some big pillows, a heating pad in the winter, and either a good book or a movie. Today my personal day was less frivolous than normal, it simply involved sleeping until noon. everyone should engage in this very re-energizing activity, my mom is very good at it. Oh, and it has to be a day when you have something else you should be doing, that is the key. Not something you HAVE to be doing, but something you need to do, but that can be skipped or postponed. Theni bought some uncrustables at Kroger, and went to school. Now I am in the library pretending to do work. Maggie is coming to get me soon and we are heading to an Ash Wednesday service at first methodist. we were going to go to the episcopal center, but we didn’t have time to make it. Tonight I am going to see the Passion movie with Jennifer and Bizzy. I was going to miss the first section Z softball game, but it got rained out, which is good. I think I am going to go home this weekend to go to the Willie Nelson concert with Travers, but I haven’t decided. I also haven’t decided what I am going to give up for lent, which is a problem because it started today, so I am limited to things I haven’t done today. suggestions are welcomed. Okay, I am going to go get my act together, tomorrow I am going to be super productive and useful and important all at the same time.
