I thought this was pretty funny. I love the Onion.
I think I forgot to tell y’all how great bible study was last night. It was really fun – and even though we talked about something that we talk about all the time – Worry – I still think it is something that I need to hear again and again in order to keep my head on straight about how I shouldn’t worry about the little things and should live from day to day and not flip out about the future.
My shoulders hurt a lot. A lot a lot. But it is a beautiful day and it is suppose to be fairly warm – so I’m going to go run outside later – which I think will help me work out some of my soreness. Look at me – being healthy and stuff.
Susan Elizabeth sent me some awesome links to articles about thefacebook – and I thought y’all might like them: here, here, here, here, here, and here. Suz is so cute and knows how much I love the facebook. I mean, there is no reason to read all of them I guess – but it is interesting. Some of the facts I was interested in and found rather impressive:
80-90% of college students are on the facebook
5 million college students overall
75% of students on the facebook check their profile once a day
the average student checks their profile 6 times a day.
Also – I loved this article – via Sherry – about how to find a job you love. It is a long article – but one I really enjoyed. I also really love Sherry’s blog – I have been reading it for a couple of years and it is consistent and thoughtful and always enjoyable.
Class is almost over! Then my weekend begins! I love my life!! It is such a beautiful day!

I set my alarm for 9:30 this morning – even though I didn’t have class today – I knew I didn’t want to get up at noon and have my whole day be shot – since I have a bad habit of sleeping quite late.
And as crazy as it sounds – I actually woke up at 9:30. But I layed in bed and played on the computer and fought indecision as to what should happen next in my day until around 11 at which point I moved downstairs to the couch. After cooking a toaster strudel, I settled in to watch a couple episodes of 24.
Around 1:30 I overcame my indecision and got dressed to go to yoga and run some errands.
Let me tell y’all about power yoga. www.athenspoweryoga.com. It is super great. I mean, of course, if you think sweating buckets and being in pretty intense pain for an hour and a half in a small dark room heated to 90 degrees great. Oh, and not being able to walk for days afterward.
No seriously – I don’t like regular yoga – but I really do enjoy power yoga – I think an hour and a half is kind of a long time – but you really do feel great afterward. Well, after you peel all your clothes off and wash yourself and eat everything you can find. Then you feel pretty awesome.
Who am I kidding. I think I’m just a masochist. Yawn. I’m tired.
OH YEAH!!! I GET TO BE IN MARY BETH AND WILL’S WEDDING! I’M SO EXCITED! IT IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN! YAY PEOPLE I LIKE GETTING MARRIED! IT IS SO MUCH MORE FUN WHEN PEOPLE YOU LOVE GET MARRIED TO OTHER PEOPLE YOU LOVE!
I don’t want to go to school tomorrow. I wish someone in particular would call me back. I love chocolate chip cookies. I wish my shower and bathtub at my apartment were better.
But other than those little complaints – all my clothes have been washed – my house smells like detergent – which is awesome – and I am feeling great about life and the world at large.
Kisses – sweet dreams – sleep tight. (I know I will).

I’ll be at the basketball game tonight at Stegman Coliseum with Jill Bateman. I’m pretty pumped – I haven’t been to a game all year and this one should be a big one! I know we haven’t had the best lately – but I have faith in our team. Plus – Kentucky isn’t at it’s finest either. We even have a better record than they do.

So, apparently my advanced evidence teacher didn’t get the memo that pop quizzes are completely against the law and categorically unfair in law school. Especially 3rd year. There are only 3rd years in my class.
And.
He.
Gave.
Us.
A.
Pop.
Quiz.
I totally failed it. And I’m kind of upset.
OMG! What is the problem! I used to be a professional at failing pop quizzes. No sweat. Seriously, failing pop quizzes used to be one of my specialties. I guess today was just the first pop quiz I’ve failed in three or four years. Maybe I’m losing my touch.
In other news – the Snickers conspiracy continues. Not only are there no snickers in the vending machines anymore – now there are no snickers in the bookstore candy shop.
I have complained to Dean Kurtz and the employees at the bookstore candy shop. The candy shop people I politely asked them to order more – to which they thanked me for pointing out the need. Dean Kurtz said that he would look into it and agreed whole heartedly with me that it was a dire situation to which he would devote his whole attention.
Also – not to be a nerd – but what is the problem with Star 94.1 these days – I used to get good reception in my car but lately I’m just not able to hear the music like I once was – and I kind of miss it.
Lastly – Christy and I decided yesterday that we would rent a movie and order a pizza. So Christy picked us up a pizza from little italy and then we both went to Video Warehouse. But instead of renting a movie like we should have – we decided to rent the first season of 24. Yep – so instead of committing to a three hour movie – we committed to 24 hours of intense, stress-filled television. We made it through seven hours yesterday – and I’ve watched three more hours this afternoon by myself.

Since I don’t have class on Friday, and we didn’t have school today – I have been enjoying a ridiculously long weekend. And I’m too lazy to go into detail about it all – so I’m going to make y’all a list.
Thursday
1. Talked to my awesome friend David Moore on the phone.
2. Bought new running shoes from the knowledgeable and helpful people at Bulldog Sporting Goods – after much deliberation I ended up with the New Balance 1221.
3. Ran three miles in new running shoes with Cristina on trails. We talked about boys I think.
4. Went to dinner at East West to celebrate Bitsy’s engagement to Jon. I had a fantastic cheeseburger – Shannon ordered us great wine – and my french fries were to die for. Staci helped me clean my plate.
5. Played CatchPhrase as a drinking game at Bitsy, Dean and Taylor’s house.
6. Wandered around downtown – finally settled on Cutters for a few drinks.
Friday
1. Slept in.
2. Retrived car from parking deck.
3. Dropped new cell phone in puddle.
4. Saved new cell phone for destruction by speeding SUV by sacrificing own life.
5. Dried off new cell phone with my clothing and hair. New cell phone is still alive.
6. Bought new books at Borders with christmas gift card from Brother.
7. Visited the nice people at the Clarke County DMV and received new drivers licence to replace lost drivers license.
8. Layed around and watched television.
9. Went to super fun rager at Ally’s apartment with other awesome law school people I don’t hang out with enough where we played Kings and drank wine and beer and laughed our heads off.
10. Made appearance at 283 Bar before catching a ride home with Lindsey.
Saturday
coming soon.

I woke up this morning quite early – around 8:30 – and delighted in snuggling back down beneath my covers for a few more glorious minutes of slumber.
Of course I didn’t mean to black out until 11:15.
Gah.
Okay, I’m about to seriously attack my apartment in a cleaning frenzy the likes of which you have never seen.
Right after I eat a toaster strudel.

I got back to Athens yesterday in time to go to Advanced Evidence – which I think is going to be an awesome class. I’m probably going to fail it of course – since it is me and the mock trial team, but whatev. I didn’t make it to legal profession or law and the legislation – but I did go run and unloaded my car and started cleaning my apartment (I washed a couple loads of laundry too!). I was planning on getting it all clean today – but I’m running a little behind. Mostly because I’m a crazy person.
My schedule really is awesome right now, I’m only taking 9 hours and they all fall into nice time slots. But for some reason I have this uncontrollable problem at the beginning of every semester where I really want to completely change my schedule. Which is really not that great of an idea, especially not this semester. Mostly because half the classes I’m taking are things I MUST take, and the rest of the classes are awesome and give me a great schedule. Screwing around with it will just end up giving me a less awesome schedule. But even equipped with this knowledge I still spent all day trying to get into classes that would end up giving me a headache and which aren’t available to me for a reason.
I just took a break from writing this post to talk to Jennifer on the phone and I’m feeling a lot better. She reminded me that we are being positive in 2006, and that tomorrow is another day, and that I’m not lazy, but that I need to get a hobby this semester or I’ll be sad. So now I feel better.
The real dilemma that we worked out is that on Monday and Thursday I only have class from 10-12, on Tuesday 10-2, and no class on Wednesday and Friday except for a minicourse on Wednesdays for six weeks in the middle of the semester. So, as Jennifer said – that is a lot of no class. And I’m so much happier when I’m productive.
Any ideas with what I should do with my semester? I need structure. I really want to get a dog. Dogs are expensive. But I would really love one. My mom said that if I get a dog I need to get a dog that doesn’t shed. I kind of agree.
In other news, I truly am happy to be back in Athens, in my own space, with all my stuff, and my cute frat neighbors who are playing basketball outside and all the dogs in our neighborhood, and all my sweet law school friends. I had a fantastic break in Augusta, and I didn’t want to leave, but it feels kind of good to get back into a routine. I can’t even talk about how this is my last semester.
My thoughts about what I’m going to do with my life would take a whole other post – but I can say this – my decision to come to law school was a faith based decision, and even time I’ve wondered why I’m hear it has always been an enormous relief to think back and remember that God wanted me to go to law school – and even though I don’t know what he wants me to do this time next year – he knows. So there is no need for panic. In the same way that you aren’t being patient if it isn’t something you are longing for, it can’t be faith without some uncertainty and doubt.
Also – today is my sweet friend Molly’s birthday! Happy Birthday Molly! Yay!
I promise to be better about updating – now that I’m back in the swing of things!
Kisses!

Hey Y’all! I’m still in augusta – I have a dentist appointment on monday morning – so I’m going to be here until then – after which I’ll be heading back to athens! Yay Classic City! I haven’t been back to athens since I left almost an entire month ago.
There are actually a lot of people in augusta right now – which is nice. I went to lunch with Paige today – and we had a good catch up. Hopefully we will have even more fun tonight when she gets off work and can come play outside in the bars.
I have been playing with my parents tivo and running errands and watching netflix movies and eating my mom’s food and playing with my dogs. It has been nice. Bella is a bad dog. So it Bo. Bad dogs. I don’t want to go back to school. But I am looking forward to getting back into a routine and acting like a normal person – i.e. not staying up until 4 in the morning playing quarters. Law School Betsy and I were discussing the other day that a month long christmas break does not afford us enough structure – we become alcoholic space cadets if we aren’t careful.
Our house is C-O-L-D! I liked the 70 degree weather we were enjoying earlier in the week better than the cold – even though 70 degree weather in january is kind of creepy.
OH! And I want to spread the word – I am now a verizon customer – so if you are on verizon leave me a comment so I can know that we are IN! I’m really excited about my new cell phone and my new carrier – I just have to watch my text messaging and my out of network daytime chatting.
Y’all should be really proud of me – I got my oil changed today – and I’m getting my teeth cleaned on monday – and I mailed my rent check in – I got my health insurance worked out – I mean – I’m acting almost like a fully functional adult.
Now I just need to get a new drivers license. I’m still such a child.

I know Christmas was yesterday, and I know I haven’t updated in FOREVER – and I’m really sorry about that.
But I have been at home and I have had a lot of real people to hang out with that I never get to see, and I’ve been lazy and busy with baking and eating and drinking and shopping and sleeping.
I have posted all of my Chile pictures – look at the bottom of the side bar and you can look at my Chile pictures and my pictures from Costa Rica this summer. I’m thinking about posting some more picture albums – but I haven’t gotten around to it yet.
I know I say this all the time – but I do have a lot of thoughts I want to put down on paper – and I’m hoping to get around to it soon. I also need to start working out again. All I’ve been doing is eating and drinking lately – which needs to change.
I’m reading Life of Pi – which I’m really enjoying. I love being in Augusta – the weather has been wonderful. I think I am going to lay on the porch swing and read my book for a little while this afternoon.
Emily and Jennifer left today – which is really sad. Libby will be here for a few more days, which is nice.
I still haven’t cemented my new year’s plans – but I’m definitely going to be at the Sugar Bowl.
Okay, I think I’m going to go watch some primetime in the daytime.
Kisses.
