When my alarm clock goes off in the morning my first thought, every time, is, "What the hell is that noise?!" My second is, "GAH! TURN IT OFF!!!
I don’t want to go to barbri today. DON’T. WANT. TO. GO. This is only the second day. Either I’m going to get into a groove and things are going to get better or I’m going to fail the bar. I always said that I would rather work at burger king for the rest of my life than have to redo my first year of law school, and barbri has the strange sensation of feeling a lot like my first year of law school. At least it only last 2 months. I can do anything for two months.
It is heating up here in the deep south. Cristina and I ran yesterday and I forget how dehydrated running in the heat makes me, and I am paying for it this morning. I feel hungover and I haven’t had anything but water to drink since 4 yesterday afternoon and I haven’t had alcohol since sunday at dinner. Dehydration is the enemy.
Okay, I’m going back to the mines, I mean, barbri.
I apologize for the whiny tone of this post. I promise I’ll perk up soon.
Today is my first day of Bar/Bri, but I don’t want to go either. Actually, I am not going often during the course. I am a visual learner and sitting through lectures is a waste of my time. In one ear and out the other as they say . . . .
I take back my last comment. I found the videotaped lectures to be helpful due to the handouts. (Note to those who don’t know: the handouts have blanks which students fill in during the lecture.) I think I will be attending regularly.
And by perking up soon you mean in about two months after the bar is over?
Jeremy – I think the lectures are a lot more helpful than I anticipated as well. We are so adult we still get to use fill in the blank outlines. Let me know when you get a bike and we can go ride some afternoon. And don’t try to rain on my parade by telling me we don’t live in the same state.
One thing that does kind of irritate me is how straight forward the information appears, which makes it glaringly obvious that first year professors are TRYING to confuse you.
Wayne – I’ll perk up before that. I’m already starting to perk up. I’ve decided that I really enjoy seeing my lawschool classmates every day at barbri. I never saw anyone at school this past year, so it is refreshing to be around my friends all the time. Sigh. Silver linings.
I have the bike. I won’t rain on your parade, so I will promise to ride with you the next afternoon I am in GA. Now, of course, I haven’t been to GA during my adult life, so it might be a while before I’m there.
