Pleasure Reading III

"’It seems he had some naive conception of a women ‘fit to be his wife,’ a particular conception that I used to run into a lot and that always drove me wild. He demanded a girl who’d never been kissed and who liked to sew and sit home and pay tribute to his self-esteem. And I’ll bet a hat if he’d gotten an idiot to sit and be stupid with him he’s tearing out on the side with some much speedier lady.’
‘I’d be sorry for his wife.’
‘I wouldn’t. Think what an ass she’s be not to realize it before she married him. He’s the sort whose idea of honoring and respecting a women would be never to give her any excitement. With the best of intentions, he was deep in the dark ages.’"

Sorry

Sorry for the lack of posting today, I have had a ridiculous crick in my neck that has put me in the bed with the heating pad and my internet has been on the blink. But I am feeling better now and my internet is working. At least for now.

I just can’t do it today. I really can’t pay attention today. It is not my day. I hate class. I am still here. I can’t take it. I really can’t take it. It is almost over. I can’t win free cell, I don’t care what is going on around the internet. I can’t read more than two words at a time, which is making sentences a struggle. I don’t know what my problem is, maybe it is the weather, or all the sugar cookies I have eaten today. Whatever it is, I’m not here. I have my eyes closed, which means that you can’t see me.
Thanks Oliver!

I love this email my friend Oliver sent out on the law school listserv today. What a great guy.

Subject: 3L wants to take care of kids
I’m a creepy 3L who lives by himself in a small dirty house in 5 points, and I want to watch your kids tonight. I have 2 large out of control dogs who foam at the mouth, lots of R-rated DVDs, and a pretty substantial liquor cabinet. If anyone would like me to take care of their kids on Valentine’s Day, please call me.

Sugar Cookies

If you can find me today, I have a whole tin of frosted sugar cookies that I made yesterday (also a few non-frosted ones, for those of you who hate frosting). I’ll be out of class from 1:30-3:30, and should be around the library. Come find me and demand a valentine’s day cookie, I will be sick if I have to eat them all myself.
Firefox v. IE

I like what Pete has to say about internet explore and firefox. I switched to foxfire a while back and I think it is great, my only problem with it is that it doesn’t let me copy and paste as easily as IE. That and the fact that I am lys-dexic and I want to call it foxfire. But this isn’t that big of a deal.
Hallmark

I tried to pick up an e-card this morning. Hallmark.com said this:
"Our Apologies. Hallmark.com is temporarily offline for maintenance. We want to make sure our site is the best it can be, so we’re doing a bit of house cleaning. We expect to be back online shortly."
WHAT? ON VALENTINE’S DAY? HOUSECLEANING? You’ve got to be kidding. That would be like the Augusta National closing down the course on Sunday of the Masters for landscaping. Give me a break.

I think we need a little lesson in commenting. Now, I understand that it is my fault that this is confusing, so I made it a little easier. Where it used to say, “Boo you whore,” it now says “comments.” Once everyone gets used to commenting like this, I will change “comments” to something more interesting. But for now, it is going to say “comments.”
But please comment, I love comments, they make me happy.

Wow, Jamie Fox and Alicia Keys on the Grammy’s………no words. But it did choke me up a bit. Like moonlight through the pines. (sorry, that was ridiculous, but I did really like the performance, and I do really like the song, obviously).
