It is a little presumptuous to assume I am going to pass this semester and even be allowed to take the bar – but I have questions like this:
Have you ever been detained, arrested, formally accused, cited or prosecuted for the violation of any law?
note: excluding traffic offenses disclosed in response to question 19,
you must disclose each instance even though the charges may have been
dismissed or you were acquitted or adjudication was withheld or a
conviction was reversed, set aside or vacated or the record sealed or
expunged and regardless of whether you have been told you need not
disclose any such instance.
Do you have to report the phonecall we got at Bloomfield from the correctional facility?–JBlanchard
Yes. What a bunch of BS. Like, seriously, so what if I was breaking the law? I was totally mistreated.
I was also mistreated by some officers in NYC two years ago. They should NOT EVEN have asked for a narrative on that form because believe you me, they’re gonna get a long one.
‘Fess up, girlies. Those bar examiners aren’t foolin’. A friend of mine got called before the entire panel because he had “excessive” (5) speeding tickets. They thought it showed a “disregard for the rule of law.”
Agreed — total pain in the whatever. But save your bar apps. Having all that info in one place comes in handy later.
And don’t try to slip an “unofficial” DMV report by them, even if it means you can get it in “one click” from the internet instead of jumping through the stupid GA DMV hoops. They frown on that.
Wait…what? We can’t use DMV reports provided by 3rd party peoples that the DMV website directs us to that I just paid $20 for? CRAP.
Don’t feel too bad — I paid $30. The real one is all official and crap. And you have to get a money order and write them a notorized letter. It is easier to donate a kidney than get an official DMV report.
or you can just go to the actual DMV and pay $7. it takes like 15 minutes…
